We are excited to present HxGN dC3 Video, our professional video management (VMS) solution that is now part of the bigger HxGN dC3 physical security portfolio. Leveraging our experience with Qognify VMS, HxGN dC3 Video 9.0 brings powerful new features that enhance the flexibility, security and reliability of video surveillance. The new version has been designed to provide seamless integration with mobile devices, ensure high availability for critical operations and offer improved authentication and management capabilities.
With HxGN dC3 Video 9.0, smartphone cameras can be used as video sources to support the tactical use of VMS in case of critical events as well as for ad-hoc deployments. The feature is based on a user-centric approach that enables device-agnostic video handling. This allows smartphones to be replaced while maintaining a consistent structure of the recorded footage. Additionally, mobile channels can automatically be created on demand, allowing for real-time video access from anywhere.
To ensure uninterrupted surveillance in high-security environments, HxGN dC3 Video 9.0 introduces dedicated fallback cameras. Each camera can now have individually assigned backup cameras, providing a seamless failover mechanism. A message notifies users when a fallback camera is active, ensuring transparency.
HxGN dC3 Video 9.0 supports authentication via Microsoft Entra ID, including multi-factor authentication (MFA) for enhanced application security. System administrators now have the option to choose from three common authentication methods (basic user, Active Directory user and OpenID user) to cater for their organizations’ specific security policies.
With the launch of HxGN dC3 Video 9.0, the legacy web clients for Qognify VMS, Situator and Ocularis have reached end of life (EOL) and only the new HxGN dC3 Web Client will be supported going forward. Enhancements to this include support for the Auto Updater, HxGN dC3 Umbrella support and a web client manager to manage security certificates.
Carsten Eckstein, Head of Product Management, VMS, at Hexagon’s Safety, Infrastructure & Geospatial division, explains the idea behind the first release of HxGN dC3 Video:
“Our goal was to increase the flexibility, security, and reliability of our video management solution. Whether it’s seamless smartphone streaming, high-availability fallback, or enhanced authentication – our focus remains on empowering customers with a powerful and future-proof VMS solution that supports them in safeguarding their worlds.”
Qognify VMS customers with an active SMA are entitled to upgrade to HxGN dC3 Video 9.0, which is available now.
