Qognify VMS 7.5 now available

The latest version of Hexagon’s video management software (VMS) – Qognify VMS 7.5 – is now available.

It contains many enhancements, including the addition of track and monitor (TAM) analytics from Qognify VMS Video Analytics powered by Saimos. This video analytics tool enables users to extract attributes from tracked objects and make them searchable. This option is aimed at users that want to take their physical security to a new level with advanced analytics functionalities.

The highlights of Qognify VMS 7.5 at a glance:

  • Addition of server-based metadata sources to Hexagon’s non-proprietary forensic search tool – QogniFinder. Making use of the above-mentioned TAM analytics functions from Qognify VMS Video Analytics, customers now can use a server-based analytics tool to equip any camera channel with analytics intelligence for finding specific persons or vehicles in recorded video footage. This helps security personnel and agencies to significantly speed up investigations.
  • Expanded range of cameras supported by QogniFinder: In addition to server-based analytics, QogniFinder now also supports further camera models with onboard analytics functions from Axis, Bosch, Dahua, as well as Pelco. This gives organizations additional flexibility to add forensic search capabilities to their video systems.
  • Updated Web Client: The web client now offers a new hybrid mode, which enables the use of essential functionalities of Qognify VMS and Situator PSIM in one combined interface. With this, operators don’t need to switch between different user interfaces for many routine incidents. On the video side, improvements contain the integration of alarm management and video investigation as well as support of the H.265 video compression standard, for an even more enhanced user experience on most standard web browsers.

Other advancements include:

  • Enhanced LPR workflow: A single license plate can be assigned to several groups, simplifying workflows for administrators of large (distributed) systems
  • New “Supervisor” user role: New branch-level role for the execution of prepared video exports is especially useful in retail hierarchical structures to maintain compliance with company policies and GDPR
  • Improved upgrade and migration support: A new tool assists users when upgrading from other VMSs (Ocularis and NiceVision) to Qognify VMS 7.5 – enabling partners and customers to take advantage of the latest features while retaining historical data like alarms, events and maps, etc.
  • Improved integration between Qognify VMS and Situator: Customers who use both products will benefit from an updated integration between both products that includes the powerful VMS control elements directly in the Situator UI, providing an enhanced video experience.
